Both classical and folk dance have a long history in India. Each region maintains its old forms of folk dance which are performed on special occasions. Classical dance embodies a range of highly defined and codified forms that represent scenes from classic Hindu mythology.

We were privledged to have a classical dance demonstration while we were in Delhi. Later, in Dundlod, we were entertained by several folk dances during our stay at the fort.

On several occasions, we also came across street performers who earn their living by entertaining passers by for a few Rupees.
